Vuzix, a leading manufacturer of enterprise-grade augmented reality (AR) smart glasses, will soon showcase its product lineup at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024 in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

The world-famous annual event will rally the global tech community around the latest products, innovations, and concepts specifically set to define the virtual, augmented, and mixed reality (VR/AR/MR) industry.

With Vuzix, it will demo its Ultralite S AR smart glasses, which bagged a CES 2024 Innovation Award. It will also offer audiences a trial of its M-Series, Vuzix Shield, and novel artificial intelligence (AI)-backed wearable device at its booth at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

With the new use cases on full display at the major event, Vuzix will exhibit its Ultralite smart glasses in multiple scenarios such as exercises, SMS messaging, game score viewing, stock market quotes, and others.

Ultralite Smart Glass Use Cases

Regarding medical use cases, the company’s industry-leading headsets will illustrate their use cases for device management, surgeries, and neurosurgery, among others.

Additionally, Vuzix will allow users to see how the smart glasses can reboot telecom towers and other remote guidance demos for the device. The innovative platform will also note their inventory management capabilities on the Ultralite original equipment manufacturing (OEM) platform.

With the device, users can access finger scanners to receive tasks, access scan confirmations, and other logistics-related functionality.

In addition to the multitude of use cases for Vuzix’s Ultralite platform for OEMs, the Rochester, New York-based firm will also demonstrate its waveguide and display engine technologies.

This comes as the company aims to conquer the “high-volume, low cost optics systems” market in the United States.

The platform’s Incognito technology also removes forward light issues commonly faced in the waveguide manufacturing sector. Vuzix can also customise the adaptive system to the client’s specifications, including multiple colours, styles, and technological specifications.

NTT Partnership Demo at the CES 2024

Furthermore, Vuzix will work with Japanese telecoms giant NTT QONOQ to test run the latter’s NTT XR Real Support solution for supporting remote and connected workforces across Japan and beyond.

The company is a subsidy of NTT DOCOMO, which has highlighted its extensive work in the enterprise virtual, augmented, and mixed reality markets.

In a recent interview, Rika Nakazawa, Group Vice-President, Connected Industry & Head of Sustainability for the Americas, NTT, explained the need for sustainable, agile telecoms solutions for rising extended reality ecosystems worldwide.

Explaining further, Paul Travers, President and Chief Executive, Vuzix, also said in a statement,

“As the world inexorably approaches widespread adoption of human augmentation tools like AI, AR smart glasses, and related technologies, Vuzix is well positioned with both our OEM capabilities and product solutions to play a pivotal role in this transformation, as evidenced by our lineup at CES 2024.”

He concluded: “Whether for enterprise, medical, defense or ultimately consumers, our focus is on offering the solutions needed to optimize the workplace and connect workers with technologies to make them more effective in what they do.”

The CES 2024 will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada from 9 – 12 January, 2024 and will host some of the world’s biggest tech companies as they gather to exhibit the next generation of consumer and enterprise solutions.

Major multinational tech firms like Accenture, Amazon, AMD, Google, IBM, Intel, Lenovo, LG, Panasonic, Samsung, Sony, and Qualcomm will attend the massive four-day event to evaluate their technologies, explore the current and future trajectories of the tech industry, host panel talks and discussions, and network with similar individuals and enterprises.
